Don’t Rely On Motivation

You know, Dear Reader, that feeling when you set yourself a goal and get soooo motivated?

You might get motivated to run in the mornings, or go 3 days a week in the gym, or drink 3 liters of water per day, or create some healthy financial habit, or learn some new technology.

You’re killing it at the beginning and all is working well, because you are motivated.

The problem is that you can’t always stay motivated. You’ll run out of it. And what will you do in order to keep going? Try to see how to get motivated again?

I think you shouldn’t rely on motivation. It will eventually leave you alone. Then come back again and leave again.

Unreliable.
Instead, trust the discipline. I like to call it routine. Be there also when there is no motivation. Show up. You might not be able to do your best, but you will keep going and getting ever so closer to your goal.
